Alfrea knows that fresh, quality food grown with your own hands can make this happen. That’s why we work tirelessly to bring on-site gardens, training and workshops, and a 24/7 online marketplace to workplaces and communities who want to get involved in all things fresh food.
BORN FROM A LOVE OF GARDENING AND THE DESIRE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
For years, social entrepreneur and avid gardener David Wagstaff has helped rent out pastures, find beekeepers, and manage the day-to-day around his parents’ farm. At the same time, he has often wondered how to improve his parents’ health and how to maintain his own. David discovered that fresh, quality food is the answer to over 50% of health related issues.
David knew he wasn’t the only one worried about his health and that of the people around him. He started Alfrea to connect more people to the power of growing, sharing, and eating fresh food, no matter how much time or experience they have.
MEET THE ALFREA TEAM
Our New Jersey-based team of farmers, chefs, entrepreneurs, and all-around food lovers are committed to working on helping people get healthier and happier every single day.
David started his career as a financial analyst in alternative and green energy technologies and as a Department of Energy subcontractor. He went on to spend years in consulting and as CFO of a health and wellness social services agency. He has twice started and sold consulting businesses.
John has held positions in corporate training, finance operations, corporate communications, digital marketing and strategy, and has a passion for fresh foods and farming.
John joined Alfrea as its first full-time employee after studying accounting at Stockton University and working for a mid-sized CPA firm. He manages internal initiatives such as finance, accounting, investor reporting, HR and operations, and serves as a second pair of eyes for founder.
